Liz focuses on metal casting by employing 3D scanning, reliefs, and hand-sculpted patterns, utilizing various molding techniques tailored to each project.
Relief Sculpture Double Happiness
Inspired by her Chinese heritage, Liz Hanson crafted her first double happiness relief for her cousin in 2023 to commemorate their special day. In 2024, she was commissioned to create another relief in celebration of a 25th wedding anniversary.

Liz is currently serving as the Artist in Residence at Chipeta Elementary School, teaching Ceramics for her second year. Additionally, she has begun leading art camps for children ages 3-11 at Angelo's Pottery. Liz Hanson is collaborating with Fruitvale Elementary School to create a sculptural art installation that will serve as a welcoming entrance, connecting the community to the school's new playground. Scheduled to commence in late 2027 and finish by summer 2028, this project will honor the rich orchard history of the Grand Valley, a vital aspect of Grand Junction, Colorado's cultural heritage. We are actively seeking sponsors and donations to guarantee the success of this initiative.
